Apiphobia

Apiphobia is the fear of bees. This fear is also related to the fear of bumblebees, wasps, horseflies or most of the flying insect species that can cause a sting.
The word apiphobia comes from the Latin“apis” wich means “bee” and from the Greek “phobos” that means “fear”.
Apiphobia is quite common, especially for children. This fear can lead to fear of flying animals. The causes of apiphobia are mainly a past traumatic event such as an attack of bees, or wasps for example. This fear can also find his origin in allergies to insect bites, which causes the fear of these insects that can hurt them.
