Coulrophobia

Image
October 31 ... who doesn’t know this day? No one missed the monsters and witches every year. Don’t forget the clowns who are everywhere! Oh! There's another story to tell about clowns: We can find them in movies like the Joker in Batman's film and Sarah Jane adventures' series or in novels like "It" by Stephen King Clowns come from the Germanic,”klönne”, meaning originally “mound of earth ", then finally "rustic man", is a person wearing a traditional costume and an exaggerated makeup. For the global public they are fun characters but not everyone share the same vision. Some people have an unexplained fear of clowns usually called "evil clown" until 1980. Recently it has been named coulrophobia so there's no clownophobia!  The prefix  "Coulro" comes from the ancient Greek "one who goes on stilts" and phobia means, "fears”. Astrophobia

Image
Astrophobia: Astrophobia is the fear of space and the universe. This is precisely the fear of all that is not from the Earth. This includes planets, stars, black holes and, of course, the emptiness of space. The word astrophobia comes from two works from the ancient Greek: “Astron-” wich means “celestial body” and “phobos” which means “fear”. Indeed, astrophobia means litterally “fear of celestial bodies”. The causes related to this fear are complex: this is a combination of external factors and internal predispositions. The internal predispositions refer to genetic and hereditary factors, fears that have been transmitted from the ancestors of the afflicted persons. The crises of astrophobia can start by the simple thought of space or by observation of the sky. Sources: The Free Dictionary (website) Wiktionary (website) Common phobia (website)

Pediophobia

Pediophobia            Have you ever had that weird impression when you have a doll or a teddy bear and it seems like they're always staring at you or you just don't feel comfortable with it hanging around. You might be suffering Pediophobia!            This fear even though oftenly used in movies such as "Annabelle", and "Child's play"'s Chuky, is not one of the most encountered. You might not understand how this can be scary for someone in everyday's life but it's not about just being afraid of any toy it's just the representation of a living being with inorganic materials.
