Acousticophobia
Acousticophobia is the fear of sounds and noises, especially loud noises. It’s also called phonophobia. The word acousticophobia comes from two words from the ancient Greek:
“Akoustico-” wich means “hear” and “phobos”, it’s “fear”.
In most cases, acousticophobia is used as a barrier of protection by the mind to protect itself from the outside world. This fear is most often related to a traumatic event or an upheaval in the patient’s pas life, such as an accident.
The crises are triggered by the fact of hearing very loud or very sudden sounds.
