Ombrophobia   is the fear of rain. This also includes the fear of storms and thunderstorms.  The word ombrophobia   comes from two words from the ancient Greek: “ Ombros ”  which   means  “ water” or “storm   of rain ” and “phobos ”  that   means  “ fear ” . Fear of rain   and fear   of water should   not be   confused. The fear   of rain   is   manifested   by the fear   of the noise that   this   one makes   by falling   on objects.  This fear   can sometimes   extend   to the fear   of clouds   or wind.   The causes of this   fear   are very   unknown   and unexplained. Apiphobia   is   the fear   of bees. This fear   is   also   related   to the fear   of bumblebees, wasps, horseflies   or most   of the flying   insect   species   that   can cause a sting. The word apiphobia comes from the Latin “ apis ”  wich   means “bee” and from the Greek “phobos ” that means “fear”. Apiphobia   is   quite   common, especially   for children. This fear   can lead to fear   of flying   animals. The causes of apiphobia   are mainly   a past   traumatic   event   such   as an attack   of bees, or wasps for example. Algophobia

 Algophobia is fear of pain, fear of hurting or being wounded. This phobia is the more advanced form of reflex fear due to pain that we all feel. Algophobia comes from two words from the ancient Greek: “algos-” wich means “pain” and “phobos” it’s “fear”. Most people suffering from algophobia have had a hard time living a normal life because the smallest pain can cause a panic attack. Thanatophobia :

  Thanatophobia   is the fear of death or fear of the death process. It is a deeper form of the classic fear of death that affects more or less everyone.  The word thanatophobia   comes from two ancient Greek words: “ thanatos-” wich   means  “ death ” or is   the name   of the Greek God   of death, and “phobos ”  wich   means  “ fear ” . Thanatophobia   is different from the necrophobia which is the fear of dying people. Acousticophobia

Acousticophobia   is the fear of sounds and noises, especially loud noises. It’s also called phonophobia. The word acousticophobia   comes from two words from the ancient Greek:    “ Akoustico-” wich   means  “ hear ” and “phobos ” , it’s  “ fear ” . In most cases, acousticophobia   is used as a barrier of protection by the mind to protect   itself from the outside world. The smartest will have understood it already , but for the others in hippopotomonstrosesquipedalophobia, there's phobia, which means fear. In addition, hippopoto derivated fro hippopotamus, monstruousus which means gigantic and sesquipedalian, which stands for the long words. The meaning is so simple... The fear of big words! Although the persons suffering from hippopotomonstrosesquipedalophobia, just can't stand to hear the name of the phobia.
